Prayer points for the church with scriptures
In the service of our most holy and gracious God, we humbly draw near to offer prayers for His Church, the body of Christ, which He has redeemed by His precious blood. As we consider the manifold needs of the Church, we are compelled to seek the Lord’s face, earnestly entreating Him for His favor, guidance, and protection over His beloved flock. Let us, therefore, approach the throne of grace with reverence and godly fear, knowing that the prayers of the righteous avail much and that our God delights to hear the petitions of His people. With hearts full of faith and dependence upon His unfailing promises, we present these prayer points for the church with scriptures. We trust in the Lord to fulfill His word and to perfect that which concerns His Church until the day of Jesus Christ.
Prayer points for the church growth with Bible verses
1. For the Unity of the Church
Lord, grant that we may be one, as You and the Father are one. Let the spirit of unity dwell richly among us, that we may be perfectly joined together in the same mind and judgment.
John 17:21 “That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.”
2. For the Church’s Faithfulness to the Gospel
Preserve Your church, O Lord, from every wind of doctrine. May we hold fast to the pattern of sound words and contend earnestly for the faith once delivered to the saints.

3. For Spiritual Growth and Maturity
Cause us, O God, to grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. May we no longer be children tossed to and fro, but mature in Christ, discerning good and evil.

4. For Holiness in the Church
“Sanctify us wholly, O Lord, and may our whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let us be holy as You are holy.”

“Grant Your church wisdom from above, which is pure, peaceable, gentle, and full of mercy and good fruits. May we discern the times and walk circumspectly, redeeming the time.”

Empower us, Lord, to be salt and light in the earth. Let our light so shine before men, that they may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven.

7. For the Outpouring of the Holy Spirit
Pour out Your Spirit upon us, O Lord, as You promised in the last days. Let Your sons and daughters prophesy, and let signs and wonders accompany the preaching of Your word.
Acts 2:17 “And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy.”
8. For the Leadership of the Church
Bless, O Lord, those who shepherd Your flock. Give them wisdom, courage, and love, so that they may feed the church of God, which He purchased with His blood.
Acts 20:28 “Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.”
9. For the Church’s Perseverance in Trials
Strengthen us, O God, that we may endure hardship as good soldiers of Jesus Christ. Let tribulation work patience in us, and patience, experience; and experience, hope.
Romans 5:3-4 “And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.”
10. For a Spirit of Prayer and Intercession
Stir up in us, Lord, the spirit of grace and supplication. May we continue earnestly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving, and may our prayers be as incense before You.

11. For Love to Abound Among the Brethren
O Lord, increase our love for one another, that all men may know we are Your disciples. Let us love not in word or tongue, but in deed and truth.

Keep us, O Lord, from the doctrines of men and the traditions of this world. May we hold fast to the truth of Your word, sound in doctrine, and firm in faith.

Grant us, O God, the boldness to proclaim the gospel of Christ, which is the power of God unto salvation. Let us not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord.

14. For the Church’s Protection from the Enemy
O Lord, be our refuge and fortress, our God, in whom we trust. Keep us from the evil one, and let no weapon formed against us prosper.
Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn.”
15. For the Fruit of the Spirit to be Evident
Let the fruit of the Spirit be manifest in us, O Lord. May love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control abound among us.

16. For the Church’s Mission to the Poor and Needy
Give us hearts of compassion, Lord, for the poor, the widow, and the orphan. Let us not love in word only, but in action, showing the love of Christ through deeds of mercy.
James 1:27 “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.”
17. For the Raising of Godly Leaders
Lord, raise up men and women of integrity and faith, who will lead Your church in righteousness and truth. Let them be examples to the flock in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

18. For the Church’s Love for the Word
O Lord, let Your word dwell richly in us in all wisdom. May we delight in the law of the Lord and meditate on it day and night, that we may be like trees planted by rivers of water.

19. For the Church’s Hope in Christ’s Return
Grant us, O Lord, the blessed hope of Your appearing. May we look for and hasten the coming of the day of God, living in holiness and godliness as we await our Savior’s return.
Titus 2:13 “Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.”
20. For the Church’s Joy in the Lord
Fill us with the joy of the Lord, which is our strength. May we rejoice in the Lord always, and may our joy be full as we abide in Christ.
